Sam Halberstadt
Editor-in-chief · Annapolis, Maryland
Sam has logged over 18,000 nautical miles aboard everything from 19-foot center consoles to a Tartan 40 cruising the US East Coast and Bahamas. He spent five seasons as a delivery captain on the Eastern Seaboard, three summers running a sailing school in Newport, RI, and currently keeps a 32-foot cruising sloop in Annapolis. He started helpyouboat in 2024 after writing for Sail Magazine and Cruising World because most beginner boating content online is either ad copy or repackaged manufacturer talking points.
