Tool
Scope is the ratio of rode (chain + line) deployed to the vertical distance from the bow chock to the seabed. Use 5:1 for a lunch hook in calm water, 7:1 overnight, and 10:1 in heavy weather.
Total depth from bow chock to bottom: 21 ft
5:1 lunch hook
105 ft
of rode to pay out
7:1 overnight
147 ft
of rode to pay out
10:1 storm
210 ft
of rode to pay out
Estimates only. All-chain rode can get away with slightly less scope; nylon needs at least 7:1 to stretch and absorb shock.
